Since the launch of the new Ford Mondeo the motoring press have raved about its many qualities. One very notable weekly has even elevated Ford up to the Mercedes, BMW and Audi level. And since driving Bearstreets Mondeo 2.0 TDCi Titanium 5 Door, I have to echo their views. Ford have made a huge step forward with this car. Its the same size as a BMW 5 Series. It drives as well as a 3 Series. It isn't as fast as either of the BMW models, but it wasn't meant to be. But in other ways the Mondeo equals or surpasses the so called premium product. And its cheaper! So what do you get for your money. Well to start with you get a large luxurious, good looking car in saloon, hatchback or estate versions. In spite of its bulk the driving behaviour on road is exemplary whichever version you choose. On a motorway its wafts you and your passengers along in near silence in sumptuous comfort. If you you need sporting stiffness for B road performance then you can specify a sports pack which trades some comfort for handling response.
