News 3) May 20th 2005. New Ford S-MAX
The styling "expresses energy in motion". So the car looks sporty!? Well, with its protruding wheelarches, wide low stance, it does look sporty. In fact if the vehicle in the metal looks as it does in photographs, I think Ford are onto a winner.
To be launched mid/late June, the S-Max is a big car with seven seats and will cost about £22,000 for the 2.5 Turbo version. Expect 140mph and 0-60 in less than 8secs with exemplary road manners from that version. Other versions include petrol and diesel engines and Zetec and Titanium trim levels.
To see the car in the metal, Bear Street should have one from June 18th so book an hour off now. Perhaps I'll see you there.
P.S. We are expecting the new Galaxy to to be with us mid July.

News 1) September 18th 2004. New Development begins!
 | | The first hint of a real upheaval! | | | Work started on Sept 18th | | | And progressed gently until .. | | | Things really started to happen! | | | And one of the new doorways begins! |
The Peakes are lucky to have such a prominent position for their Garage. But recently they had to consider moving as things seemed to be going wrong!
To cut a long story short, they have had a car preparation bay housed in an old warehouse, for many years. The owners of the warehouse decided to redevelop their building and that meant that the Peakes needed to find some real estate! Like all these issues alternatives needed to be considered and for a time the favourite seemed to be to move.
A brainwave saved the day however. It was to use the land underneath the service road that lead to the parking spaces at the current site. Both the upheaval and the cost, is considerable, though the decisions are made and work started last September. The pictures tell part of the story because there is still a lot to do! But keep watching for our launch party!
An Apology
The Management of Bearstreet garage would like to thank all of their customers for their good humour in putting up with the disruption caused by the new ground work.
